To help keep your home and community safe, we’ve been upgrading our CCTV systems in most of your buildings and schemes in recent months. We now have a team who live monitor CCTV footage overnight so they can respond to, and report, any issues immediately.

As part of our drive to deter and detect crime and anti-social behaviour, we’re regularly sharing a range of case studies to show you how the system is working and making a positive impact on your neighbourhood.

Canford Place, Staffordshire

A white van was recorded entering the carpark of Cranford Place and dumping (what looked like) building materials in the communal bin and bin store.

By looking through the CCTV footage and capturing the vehicle registration, the CCTV team were able to identify that it was the second time that the vehicle was recorded dumping waste at this site.

We’ve reported this case to Cannock Council Environmental Health and we’re currently communicating with them to provide footage of the incident and catch up with the perpetrator.

Park Court, Aston

A tenant raised concerns about somebody in the block who was continually leaving items in the corridor, creating a fire hazard.

The CCTV team monitored the situation and identified that it was serious fire concern. The incident was looked into by our Tenancy Services team, who worked with the tenant to get this issue resolved and cleared up.

How our CCTV has helped

We were able to identify cases of fly-tipping at different residential sites and get them escalated with the correct teams. We’re regularly monitoring footage to look out for any more cases of fly-tipping across our communities.

We’ve finished installing CCTV cameras in all of our buildings and they’ve had a positive impact in preventing and dealing with any trouble and making your communities safer.

While the cameras have been installed at all sites, we're still experiencing connection issues at some sites which is affecting live monitoring. We hope this will be resolved very soon.
