Back to school prep
Help in the holidays 22/08/2024
The summer holiday’s will be coming to an end very soon, so we want to share some tips on how to prepare for the new school year in September!
School uniforms
A new school year means new uniforms for the kids. You can often buy things like white polo shirts, trousers, shoes and backpacks from standard supermarkets.
For school branded items such as jumpers, PE kits and book bags, these need to be bought through a verified uniform supplier. This can often cause an extra expense, but the gov.uk website offers advice on how you can request help with the cost of school uniforms.
If you live in England, you can contact your local council to find out if there’s any support in your area.
There are also some school uniform grants that you can apply for, but be quick, as some deadlines have already passed and others are fast approaching.
Stationary and lunchboxes
Make going back to school fun by letting the kids pick out any stationary they may need or by picking out their lunch boxes and water bottles. This will help make being at school more exciting and fun for them.
Reading and homework
Get the kids back into the swing of things by doing some easy and light reading and some simple homework. This will help them to start getting engaged again after a summer of fun.
Bedtime routines
The summer holidays are fun and longer than other school holidays, so it’s easy for kids to slip out of routine. It’s a good time to be getting them back into a good sleeping routine, so they feel ready and well rested for when the new school year starts.
