Cheap kids meals
There’s a lot of supermarkets and restaurants around the UK that are offering children’s meals at discounted prices.
Here’s a handful of places that are offering cheap kid’s meals:
- Asda – kids eat for £1 all day at Asda café, seven days a week (no adult spend required)
- Sainsburys – kids eat for £1 at Sainsburys café with the purchase of adult hot main (minimum purchase to be £5.20), from 11:30am every day
- Hungry Horse – Kids eat for £1 on Mondays
- Morrisons – kids eat free when you purchase an adult meal of £5 or over, all day every day
- Ikea – kids eat for 95p or £1.50. There’s no minimum spend, but it excludes Fridays
- Dobbies garden centres - kids eat for free with any adult main meal order (costs between £8.95-£11.75)
You can find lots more restaurant deals and vouchers here.
Food banks
There are many food banks linked to churches and local organisations that you could turn to for support this summer.
Food banks don’t just provide food, but they also make sure people get essential household items. The largest foodbank organisation in the UK is our partner, the Trussell Trust.
If you give us a ring on 0345 60 20 540, we can help refer you to them. Or you can take a look at the Trussell Trust website to find your nearest foodbank.
The holiday activities and food (HAF) programme
The HAF programme helps families by providing free meals and daytime activities to children during the holidays who are normally entitled to free school meals.
You can visit our help in the holidays page to check for HAF events in your area.
You can also type in your area followed by ‘HAF programme’ on Google to find your local HAF programme.
If you’re looking for things to do this summer with the kids, then take a look at our webpage for some ideas. We’ll also be sharing some cheap and free kids activities on our Facebook page and X, so keep your eyes peeled!
