Tenant Engagement Kirby Close 0869

It’s National Involvement week! A week to shine the spotlight on all forms on tenant and resident engagement and the people who make it happen.

To start the week off, we wanted to introduce one of our newest members of our Tenant Engagement and Scrutiny team, Jo, who works closely with our tenants to make sure their feedback and experiences contribute to changing and improving our services.

Why did you join the Tenant Scrutiny team?

I have worked for Midland Heart for over 20 years in a range of teams, including homeless services, data and performance and more recently with our mutual retirement living schemes.  In every role I’ve done I have loved being part of a team that aims to deliver a brilliant service for our tenants and residents.  I was really keen to join the scrutiny team as I wanted to be part of the team that works across areas of the whole business making sure we  include tenants’ views and insight into the services we deliver.

What has been one of your best moments within the Tenant Scrutiny team?

Well I’m new to the team, but so far I’ve really enjoyed being part of a Community Days and Town hall events where  tenants come along to meet with members of Midland Heart teams. I have already met some great people who really care about where they live and had brilliant ideas about how we can improve our services. It’s always great to talk face to face with people to hear what they think would improve their experience of Midland Heart.

What have your learnt so far?

Our approach to tenant involvement isn’t just about our team meeting with tenants and collating their views. It’s the basis of everything we want to deliver as a business. We also want to measure the impact all the work we are doing with tenants is having.. after any project or actions we need to capture did it make an impact on tenant’s experiences?

Why is tenant involvement week important to promote?

We would love to have as many involved tenants at Midland Heart participating in the different opportunities My Voice gives so  we can to capture a wide range of views and experiences. We want to make the most of this week to let you know the different opportunities available.

We have so many ways for you to get involved, from taking surveys or joining ad-hoc meetings through to being part of our Operations Committee! For more information on being an involved tenant and the different ways you can take part in tenant scrutiny, visit our My Voice page.
