This year marks our 100-year anniversary and we’ve been celebrating with our tenants by exploring what ‘home’ truly means.
What we’ve been up to
We put a call out to you across our social media channels, on our website, on our tenant app and via email – asking you to answer 4 questions on what home means to you and your favourite memories. It only felt right to co-produce this project with you and work closely together to create something authentic and genuine - and have you shape what this celebration looked like.
Capturing moments that matter
We invited you to share your stories and open your doors to us so we could capture what makes your homes special. We received over 60+ responses from tenants across the Midlands from Coventry, to Leicester, Wolverhampton, Burton-on-Trent and everywhere else in between.
Hearing everyone’s personal stories on what home means to them has been warming and heartfelt. It’s also been truly inspiring to hear everyone’s journeys of how they found their homes and made it their own.
“It has made us feel secure, happy and it has had a good positive impact on our mental wellbeing, it has also provided us security and a sense of belonging.” – Mardin (tenant)

Shaping the future together
Our priority is to put our tenants at the heart of all we do. These stories don’t just celebrate our past, but it also helps to shape our future together and how we can improve our services.
Our new corporate plan is shaped by our tenant’s voices and is supported by these insights. Hearing your stories and visiting your homes helps us to build stronger communities and understand more about how we can improve our services for you.
Our new plan for 2025 – 2030 shows how we’ll continue to provide quality, affordable homes and make sure our service is really tailored to your needs.
To find out more about what we’ll be getting up to in the next five years, read our new corporate plan, Tenants at Heart.
We’d love to share more of your stories and your experiences in your home. If you’d like to get involved in the future, please send us an email to feedback@midlandheart.org.uk.
